“Physical fitness is the first requisite of happiness. In order to achieve happiness, it is imperative to gain mastery of your body. If at the age of 30 you are stiff and out of shape, you are old. If at 60 you are supple and strong then you are young.” Joseph Pilates

What is Pilates

Pilates is a complete exercise method developed by its founder, Joseph Pilates, who dedicated his lifetime improving physical and mental and spiritual health.

Pilates focuses on building your body's core strength and improving your posture through a series of low repetition low impact stretching and conditioning exercises.

Core strength means the strength in your back, abdominal and pelvic muscles. Through pilates, you will be able to develop deep and superficial muscles, creating a slender but toned body. It is now recognised by many leading physiotherapists, osteopaths and other health professionals to help in the role of injury prevention and rehabilitation. Pilates is now widely used by major sports stars from varying different areas who are attracted to the benefits gained from increasing core strength. It teaches body awareness resulting in controlled, graceful but precise movements.
